Dog Breeds

A Dog For Our Daughter

File:Golden Retriever.jpg

I am in the search for a dog for our daughter.  She has just turned two years old and it seems that the time is right.  When we go to the park she loves to see the various animals and especially dogs.  She loves to mimic the sound of a dog and when one comes on television she is especially excited.  The question then becomes…which dog breed should we get?

I’m told that the best dog breed for a child is a golden retriever or a labrador retriever.  They certainly seem like loveable dogs.  A friend of mine had a golden retriever and it was extremely good with kids.  The kids would roam all over it and even pull its tail and ears and it would barely take note.  This is especially important if you happen to have small children around.  They might do things to an animal that the animal wouldn’t like.  It is nice to know that golden retrievers and labrador retrievers will tolerate such behavior.

My personal favorite is the border collie.  I fell in love with them ever since I saw a sheep herding expedition in New Zealand years ago.  They are extremely intelligent animals and are very hard working as well.  The drawback to a border collie is that they love and almost have to have things to do.  A friend of mine has a border collie and tells me that if he leaves it at home during the day while he is at work it will destroy the place as there is nothing else to do.  I work during the day so that will not work for me.  In addition, I think it is nice for a border collie to live on a farm and to have loads of land to roam and animals to take care of.  One day we will live on a farm I hope, and then I will get a border collie.

Long gone are the days when we would just put Katie in the baby jumperoo and leave her while we tended our chores.  She is a big girl now and loves to roam around.  It would be nice for her to have a good dog to do things with.

Pug Checks for their Devoted Owners

PUG PERSONAL CHECKS
If you’re a devoted pug owner who can’t resist the pensive face of a pug, then I bet you take every chance you can to tell the world how wonderful your pug is. Well I get how excited you are. I’ve found a unique way to share your enthusiasm – pug personal checks. Each one shows the quirky personality of the pug breed! If you’re thinking that these checks must be expensive. Think again. I found this great place to order checks online called Girly Checks. They have the most wonderful selection of dog breed checks. The checks are to die for and there is a 10% discount on every order over $10. How can you say no to this deal.

The pug checks come in sets that rotate pug pictures. I love the Sleepy pug series that shows pugs napping and yawning. Pugs are just the right size to snuggle up to you when your napping so as not to push you off the couch.

So these personal checks are the way to go if you want a way to start a conversation about your pet pub. While you’re writing out a pug check for your dry cleaning bill, the clerk will notice the pug. Then you get to show your pictures of your very own pug. Maybe they’re a pug owner as well!
